Colposcopy & HPV in Patras: When an Examination Is Needed
Colposcopy is a painless and completely safe examination that helps the doctor accurately assess the health of the cervix. It is recommended when a Pap smear shows abnormal results or when an HPV test is positive.
During the examination, a special microscope (colposcope) is used, allowing for tissue magnification and the detection of abnormalities that are not visible to the naked eye. If necessary, a sample may be taken for biopsy to determine the type and severity of the lesion.
At Professor P. Nikolaidis’ clinic in Patras, the examination is conducted with modern equipment and the highest safety standards.
