Professor of Obstetrics–Genetics at the University of West Attica, Obstetrician–Gynecologist Petros Nikolaidis founded “EmbryoMedicine Genetics” in 2004 in Marousi.
A pioneering Research Center that soon became a reference point throughout Greece for prenatal screening, specialized obstetric monitoring, fetal ultrasonography, high-risk pregnancy care, and VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean)… P. Nikolaidis is considered a global pioneer in intrauterine fetal surgery, performing intrauterine fetal interventions, and over the last 3 decades, as the exclusive genetic consultant for university and private clinics, he has conducted ultrasound monitoring on more than 100,000 fetuses across Greece.
This very need for highly specialized expertise — Professor P. Nikolaidis was the first Greek obstetrician-gynecologist hired by the renowned Professor Charles Rotecu at the only University Department that at the time offered full subspecialization in Fetal Medicine, and he obtained a Master’s in Fetal Medicine and a PhD in Genetics from Imperial College, the leading British university in the UK — led “EmbryoMedicine Genetics” to expand into an ever-growing network of medical centers in many Greek cities: Athens, Patras, Kalamata, Sparta, Arachova, Corinth, Kastoria…
The central building of “EmbryoMedicine Genetics” in Athens is a modern space specially designed for women, located on Kifisias Avenue at one of the most strategic points in Marousi, near Attiki Odos and the three major private maternity hospitals.
